New Artist Kari Jobe Has #1 Album at iTunes and Christian Retail This Week

MOBILE, Ala. – February 19, 2009 – New Integrity Music/Gateway Create artist Kari Jobe enjoys the No. 1 CD at Christian retail and the top-selling spot for a week on iTunes Christian album sales chart. Kari Jobe, which sold more than 11,552 units in its first week of sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan, also marks the highest Christian and gospel music debut by a new artist since Mandisa’s first CD release in 2007.
In addition to the top spots on Christian SoundScan’s Christian retail chart and iTunes Christian chart, Jobe’s debut CD, which was produced by Ed Cash and includes songs written by Jobe, Cash, Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche and Mia Fieldes, claims the No. 4 spot on the overall Billboard Top Christian & Gospel Albums for the week-ending February 15, selling only less than two WoW compilations and Innocence & Instinct, the new release from Red.
“This is literally a dream come true for me and I am at a loss for words right now. I am so grateful for the response to my album and humbled that so many people are engaging and connecting to the heart of God through these songs,” said Jobe in response to her successful first week.
The debut CD is earning its share of critical success alongside record sales. Says CCMMagazine.com, “With the powerhouse nuances of Natalie Grant and the singer/songwriter vulnerability of Mindy Smith, new Integrity worship artist Kari Jobe is more than a fresh face and pretty voice…With producer Ed Cash’s (Chris Tomlin, Bethany Dillon) competent hands at the creative controls, Jobe’s self-titled debut seeks to establish her as more than just a worship leader, but also as a fully-equipped artist.”
Jobe has been traveling this week to promote her new CD. She started with a standing room only release party and concert at her home church, Gateway Church in the Dallas area and also visited churches in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi.
“I’m Singing,” the first single from Kari Jobe, is also making its way across the country at Christian radio. Written by Jobe, Cash and Tomlin, “I’m Singing” is now “new and active on the AC chart” with spins at WPOZ in Orlando, FL; WCSG in Grand Rapids, MN; KLTY in Dallas, TX and WMUZ in Detroit, MI.
The child of traveling ministers, Jobe began singing when she was only 3 and knew by age 10 that she wanted to lead worship. She spent time studying at Oral Roberts University, Christ For The Nations Institute and Dallas Baptist University where she finished her Psychology/Pastoral Ministries degree before joining the Gateway Church staff.
Rare Crabb Reunion Comes to Paramount Arts Center
ASHLAND, KY - One of Southern Gospel music’s award winning family groups will reunite on stage to kick off the New Year with an especially rare night of music: the Crabb Reunion will be performing at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Arts Center, on Sat., Jan. 31st.
“Our goal is to reach all ages,” Jason Crabb said recently about the upcoming event at the Paramount. He added that the family members—including Jason, Adam, Aaron, Kelly, Terah and others—now find an even greater appreciation and purpose in singing together since the retirement took place. The siblings continue in their own callings of music and ministry, and still enjoy getting together on special occasions like this one. According to Jason, it’s especially significant when they can join together on stage to perform in their home state of Kentucky. “We want to reach everyone, from the oldest to the youngest, because they all need the message of Jesus Christ.”
Appearing on stage at the Paramount Arts Center will be the Crabb Revival with Adam Crabb and Terah Crabb Penhollow, Jason Crabb, and Aaron and Amanda Crabb, along with an array of live musicians. Kelly “Crabb” Bowling will be the only members of the family not attending the family concert due to scheduling conflicts. The concert will be especially unique since all the members of the family will perform numerous Crabb Family chart-topping songs from yesteryear, and will also perform in other unusual musical amalgamations with new hits and medleys.
Fans are also invited to an intimate, pre-show dinner and meet-and-greet with the Crabb Family, at Daystar Studios, in Ashland, just five minutes from the Paramount Arts Center. The dinner will include a lovely buffet with drink included. Visitors can also tour the largest Christian television station in the tri-state area. Tickets for this special dinner with the Crabbs are limited. Order tickets, $20 each, by calling 606-615-5678.
For the Paramount Arts Center Show, 1300 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY, tickets are $20, $25 and $30. Tickets are available by contacting the Paramount at 606-324-3175.

YOUNG HARMONY PERFORMS ON DONNY AND MARIE SHOW
Chattanooga, TN – Gospel Music recording artist Young Harmony recently had the opportunity to sing a song on the Donny and Marie Show hosted by Donny and Marie Osmond. Johnathan and Ginger Bond were in Nevada for the taping of the program on November 16, 2008.
Young Harmony was invited to sing on the program after Donny and Marie heard their version of “May Tomorrow Be A Perfect Day.” The song was a mainstay of the Donny and Marie Show that was on television several years ago. In fact, they ended every program with it. The song was written by Alan Ralph Osmond, M. Wayne Osmond and Merrill Davis Osmond.
The song was recorded by Young Harmony on their “Strength” project in 2005. “We decided to put the song on our project to give radio DJ’s a song that would be suitable to close their programs with,” stated Johnathan Bond. “I love the message of the song; straight and to the point! We never imagined it would give us the opportunity to sing the song on the Donny and Marie Show. It’s amazing to watch God Work and open doors for His Children!”
The performance in Nevada was taped for use in a DVD release of Donny and Marie’s Shows at a future date. The Young Harmony recorded version of the song is available on the “Strength” project and may be purchased wherever Gospel Music is sold or through the Young Harmony website.
Johnathan and Ginger began traveling as Young Harmony in 1994. They knew in the beginning that God did not call them to be ‘entertainers’ but as Ministers of the Gospel through music. Johnathan and Ginger have been blessed to have many opportunities to spread the Good News in music, as well as through Johnathan’s preaching.
